Hello and Welcome! I hope this website is used as an open means of communication for my parents and students. I also hope this website will serve as a resource to enrich, engage, extend, and encourage the learning that takes place in our classroom into your homes. Please know my door is always open to address any questions or concerns. |
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
I graduated from Slippery Rock University (Pittsburgh) with a B.A. in Elementary Education. I earned a Master's of Curriculum and Instruction from UNLV, and an additional accreditation in Technology in the Classroom from SUU. I have been teaching in the Clark County School District since 2005. I have taught 5th grade for 8 years and 4th grade for 2 years. This will be my 7th year teaching at Sandy Searles Miller Elementary.
My Home
I got married in 2011 to my husband, Scott, who is also a teacher at Monaco Middle School. We have two dogs Jackson and Rocky, and two cats CeCe and Fremont. This summer we also welcomed our first child, Dylan Thomas Chandler, into our lives.

For Fun
We enjoy spending our energies as active and healthy as possible, hiking the local trails in Las Vegas, going on canoe trips down the Colorado, playing sports, working out, and camping. When time and money allow, we love to catch a plane and visit a foreign place, most recently visiting the beautiful and volcanic country, Costa Rica. |
